I hope you like one, or more, of my photographs and would like to purchase them. Just what are you buying? I would like to tell you how I toiled in the darkroom breathing in the fumes of chemicals, my hands cracked from handling these chemicals, meticulously exposing the print paper while doing a dance of dodging and burning and then later spot touching the print to cover dust marks.
Well, it is the 21st century and printmaking has come a long way. I now toil in a dimly lit room in front of a calibrated monitor doing high resolution scans of my film and then using state of the art software I meticulously spot touch the image. I also will adjust the contrast and hues a little bit to better represent what I saw. I then print out the finished image on high quality paper using a professional grade, high resolution, inkjet printer using long lasting pigment based inks. You may also have heard of this as a Giclee print. This photograph should last well over 75 years if properly matted (Please matte your print so that it doesn't come in contact with the glass) behind UV protective glass. Think about that for a second, if you are old enough to be contemplating a purchase, this print should outlive you. For those of you in the know, I use a popular (expensive) RIP software to print my monochrome work, it looks great.
I print on four sizes of paper; 17" roll, 13 x 19 inch, 8.5 x 11 inch (letter size), and 5 x 7 inch card stock. I will usually print a 16x24, 12 x 18, 6.5 x 10, or 4.5 x 6.5, though some pictures will crop differently. I may print a 7x18 on the 13x19 sheet if that is how I cropped the picture. For photos larger than 13x19 email me. The photos taken with the 4x5 have all kinds of possibilities. Just ask.
I sign all of the photos or the back of the card.
I am charging:
$160 for the 13 x 19
$90 for the 8.5 x 11
$20 for the 5 x 7 plus envelope
All prices are in US funds, and shipping is included in the purchase price. I ship it in a plastic sleeve, flat and supported. I use certified mail with the Postal Service. If you live in Colorado you will be taxed at 2.9 %.
As you can see from the variety of locales I am not always home. If you place an order I may not be able to get to it immediately. Please be patient.
I am proud of my work and feel very strongly that you will be happy with your photograph. Please contact me with any comments, good ones are nice and, if needed, a gentle critique is appreciated.
